Description

Overview: Fishing Lake First Nation requires a full time (1.0 FTE) Principal who will be dedicated to ensuring high levels of students success through instructional leadership, implementation of educational programming and services at Chief Sabitawasis School beginning August 25, 2025. Chief Sabitawasis School is located approximately 1 km south of Kylemore, Saskatchewan. This Principal will oversee and manage all staff at Chief Sabitawasis School. Our school is a Daycare, HeadStart and Kindergarten to grade 12 facilities with an enrollment of approximately 200 students. The principal is the face of the school and will lead teachers, staff and set goals to ensure students meet their learning objectives.  The principal will demonstrate an understanding of the importance of supporting a welcoming environment. This position will serve and protect the interest and integrity of the students, staff, parents/guardians, Board of Directors and Chief and Council of Fishing Lake First Nation.
The principal will:
    Efficiently and effectively manage the delivery of education programs(s) and budgets
    Manage and direct the education sector personnel
    Supervise and implement all administrative and financial regulations
    Ensure staff and contractors are informed of policies set in Education Addendum
    Promote public relations and parental involvement
    Identify community needs and recommend expenditures
    Administer HR policies within the school, including recruitment needs, staff relations, and performance evaluations
Qualifications
    Understanding and respect of Fishing Lake First Nation Nakawe culture and traditions
    Masters degree in education and 3 years of relevant experience (or a bachelors degree in education with experience in Education Administration)
    Valid Saskatchewan Teachers Certificate
    Familiarity with Indigenous Service Canada funding and reporting requirements.
    Must be in good standing with Saskatchewan Teachers Federation
