Job Type: Full-time (32 to 40 per week), Permanent

Job requirements:

Education: High school diploma
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Food Safety Certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Work setting: Restaurant
Physical capabilities and personal suitability: ability to work in a fast paced environment, be attention to detail, can perform under pressure for a family restaurant, be good at time management, customer focus, work dependability and be a team player, be organised; be reliable.

Responsibilities
    The employee is to show up dressed and prepared for work and be familiar with daily specials.
    They must be on line cooking menu items and daily specials, following Smitty's Family Franchise standards.
    They may plan menus, determine portion sizes, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies and equipment.
    Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, customizing meals to accommodate customers with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
    Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed.
    Supervise kitchen staff and helpers and instruct them in proper methods of preparing, cooking, and handling food.
    Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
    Monitor cleanliness and operational standards in kitchen and service zones, ensuring all systems of food safety, quality, and proper cleaning of equipment are followed.
    Stock and clean their sections daily using FIFO and assist with prep or dishes when not making orders.
