The Education Program Coordinator plays a key role in delivering SMAs Minerals Connected Program content through free, curriculum-correlated educator and student workshops, compelling presentations, and community engagement. This role is perfect for someone energized by face-to-face connection, who enjoys public speaking and is excited to travel regularly throughout Saskatchewan. Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate and deliver in-person and virtual workshops and presentations to teachers, students, and community groups at schools, conventions, and career fairs throughout the province that spark curiosity and career interest in mining and SKs mineral resources.
Assist with organizing Minerals Connected outreach events and SMA initiatives around SK
Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, industry partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Participate in other SMA Programs and Events as directed by the Program Manager, Minerals Connected.
Secondary Responsibilities:
Contribute to the creation and updating of lesson plans, event activities, and workshop materials, emphasizing topics like critical minerals, sustainability, and Indigenous participation in mining.
Complete some committee, administration, organizational, and event planning responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Post-secondary education in science, engineering, education, communications, or a mining-related skilled trade.
Proven experience delivering presentations or public speaking to diverse audiences.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, digital)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and willingness to learn new digital tools
Willing to travel frequently across SK (including overnight stays).
Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Ability to pass a criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
