The Mental Health Social Worker will provide client-driven health and social case management assistance to children and youth in the community of La Ronge and those clients attending the La Ronge Health Centre to achieve safe and reasonable goals that will optimize clients health and wellness and improve their quality of life. The Mental Health Social Worker works in collaboration with clients, their families and community and government agencies, and works closely with the Mental and Addictions teams in La Ronge
The Mental Health Social Worker also acts as a resource to and supports the development of community and interagency initiatives as they pertain to their mandate. The position reports to the Manager Mental Health and Addiction Services. Clinical supervision will be provided by the Clinical Supervisor- Mental Health Services  La Ronge.
Position Duties:
- To provide assessment, counselling, and case management services to children and youth and their families with respect to mental health issues
- To provide child and youth programs and counselling utilizing a family centered approach in partnership with schools and other youth oriented referral agents.
- Performs other case management duties as assigned and within the scope of practice of a Social Worker
- To provide crisis intervention services as needed particularly while on rotation as the intake worker
- To facilitate educational support and /or therapeutic groups as requested
- To deliver public awareness / community education presentations regarding mental health issues
- To provide consultation services to internal MCRRHA staff, schools and other youth oriented agencies and community groups regarding mental health issues and services
