The Earth Works Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all earthworks operations, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all regulatory requirements. This role involves managing the work of the crew, coordinating resources, and maintaining high standards of quality control on-site. The Earth Works Supervisor must also communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily operations on earthworks and civil construction sites
- Manage crews, equipment, and subcontractors to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met
- Enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Monitor productivity, material usage, and project costs
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients
- Conduct site inspections and prepare daily reports
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in earthworks, construction, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to read blueprints and civil plans
- Knowledge of construction equipment, materials, and processes
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- CSTS, WHMIS, First Aid (preferred)
