The Earthworks/Civil Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of civil projects. Youll work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and profitable bidding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for earthworks and civil construction projects
- Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate bids
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks
- Prepare and present tender packages and bid proposals
- Participate in project handovers and provide support to project teams
- Maintain and update estimating tools, databases, and cost histories
Qualifications:
- 35 years of experience in civil estimating, preferably in earthworks/site development
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices, materials, and equipment
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS, B2W, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or equivalent experience
- Valid drivers license
