The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, renovations, operational and safety improvements, working as part of the Facilities team to deliver safe and healthy buildings, equipment and grounds that meet the needs of students and staff.
What will make you successful:
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
Minimum five years of related experience.
Valid Apprentice or Journeyman Certificate in the trades or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Understand and articulate problems and solutions verbally and in written form.
Ability to read and understand technical schematics, drawings, and manuals.
Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards and relevant building and professional codes.
Ability to operate and use equipment, tools, and diagnostic equipment knowledgeably and safely to trouble shoot, build, and repair facilities systems and equipment.
Ability to interpret descriptions of written and verbal issues as communicated by end users.
Ability to perform physical labour, including: lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs., moving equipment, and utilizing suitable equipment for handling of heavy or awkward loads.
Ability to drive long distances daily within the school division.
Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.

Hourly rate range: $27.91 - $32.66
