The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Manage library operations: cataloging, processing, circulation, shelving, and shelf reading
Maintain the schools book collection using card or digital systems (e.g., POLARIS Library World, LEAP)
Organize and implement a class book exchange schedule
Collaborate with staff to select reading, reference, and general collection materials
Deliver library-based programming to classrooms
Assist with school events (e.g., Christmas and graduation gym decorations)
Prepare and recommend the librarys operational and capital budgets.
Liaise with partner organizations (e.g., Pahkisimon Nuye-Ah Library, Saskatchewan Library, and Education)
Coordinate reading and literacy programs, including Northern Reading and Family Literacy programs
Train and supervise library staff, volunteers, and student helpers
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Library experience preferred; experience with POLARIS or LEAP systems an asset
Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
Ability to manage a library independently and work collaboratively with school staff
Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check required.
A valid drivers license is an asset
