Description

The Post Majority Support Services Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director of O and will be based out of the Muscowpetung Prevention Office located on the Muscowpetung Saulteaux Nation. The successful candidate will have a diverse set of skills and abilities to effectively support young adults transitioning into independent living. The skills and abilities typically needed for this role are:

-You demonstrate empathy and compassion, understanding the challenges young adults face as they transition child and family services agency/foster care to independent living.
-You excel in counseling and mentoring, providing personalized support to help clients develop crucial life skills and navigate obstacles effectively.
-You are proficient at case management, conducting thorough assessments, creating tailored service plans, and maintaining meticulous documentation of client progress.
-You have a strong knowledge of resources, including educational opportunities, vocational training programs, and community services crucial for supporting young adults in their transition.
-You advocate passionately for your clients, ensuring they have access to necessary services, resources, and opportunities to thrive independently.
-You communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, fostering positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
-You are a problem-solver and decision-maker, capable of assessing complex situations and making informed choices that benefit the well-being and independence of your clients.
-You thrive in collaboration, working together with multidisciplinary teams, community partners, and service providers to enhance support services and achieve positive outcomes.
-You demonstrate cultural competency, respecting and valuing diversity while effectively supporting individuals from various backgrounds.
