Description

The Ministry of Health is seeking an experienced professional with excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to support the program design and implementation work of the Health System Performance Management Unit for a one-year term. As a Senior Performance Measurement Specialist, you will lead the implementation and refinement of the performance management framework and health system performance measures.

In this challenging and rewarding position, you will have the opportunity to use your problem-solving skills to lead, support, and guide the development and implementation of health system performance management.

Reporting to the Director of Health System Performance Management, you will be responsible for:

-Leading the research and program design aspects of the performance management framework to support a more unified and strategic approach to performance management.
-Developing new and refining existing system-level performance measures and targets in support of the health systems strategy and subsequently report on progress and corrective actions.

The Ideal Candidate

As our successful candidate, you will be proactive, detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate the ability to:

-Understand and integrate existing healthcare data, develop models and methodologies for analysis and use data to support planning, accountability and decision-making.
-Analyze business plans, performance measures and quality improvement data.

Typically, the knowledge and skills required for success in this position would be attained through the completion of a graduate degree in public health, public administration, health care informatics, business administration, economics, or statistics, supplemented with significant work experience applying these skills. Knowledge and experience in health care is an asset.
