Summary:
Supervised by the Pastor, the Administrative Assistant is an employee of the congregation and provides administrative support to the Pastor and the Council. The Administrative Assistant serves as the usual point of contact for the congregation and the community. This position is responsible for day-to-day administrative duties including reception, communication, information and records management, scheduling, facilities care, and program support.
Qualifications:
1. High attention to detail, sound judgment in decision-making, analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
2. Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills.
3. Ability to independently plan, organize and carry out assigned duties and responsibilities accurately and with minimum supervision. Ability to work with discretion to ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
4. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships and to work cooperatively in a team environment.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, both verbal and written, and the ability to use tact, diplomacy and compassion.
6. Acceptable criminal and vulnerable sector record check.
Education and Experience:
1. Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
2. Ability to work with relevant software programs with a high degree of accuracy.
3. An undergraduate degree or certificate in Administration from a recognized University or Business School is an asset.
