The Superintendent role is responsible for directing all on site players in every aspect of the construction project. This role is responsible for creating schedules and managing workflow, ensuring it aligns with the project budgets and specifications. The Superintendent is responsible for diligent management of the jobsite, including work safe practices. 14North Construction expects that individuals in this role be motivated, and motivate others, to contribute to the construction of exceptional quality, long-lasting structures.
Duties include:
Working with the Project Manager on initial creation of the project schedule
Implement, monitor, and manage the project schedule. Notify management of schedule and performance issues. Be proactive in anticipating potential problems
Provide daily reporting (including manpower, material counts, deliveries, activities performed etc.)
Manage the Company Safety program and provide safety and accident reporting as required
Ensure total subcontractor compliance with all jobsite safety requirements
Maintain a clean jobsite
Manage subcontractors and suppliers to assure materials are delivered in a timely manner and subcontractors are on schedule
Solve problems and make quick, accurate decisions. This role is expected to take responsibility for their decisions
Responsible for quality control
Motivate site employees, subcontractors, and others to top performance
Coordinate work of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring necessary requirements are met
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience in leadership role, Minimum 2 years Construction Experience
Safety training and certification an asset
Strong communication and computer skills
Drivers license and own transport
Willingness to travel when required
Strong time management skills
Strong desire for individual growth within role and a drive to motivate those around to their individual best
