Working with and reporting to the Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with 
the daily management and coordination to ensure that all of the company goals and objectives are met.
General Responsibilities
 Supervising, motivating and leading the team of technicians 
 Planning daily work routines
 Implementing S.O.Ps and ensuring their compliance
 Take responsibility of the barn in the managers absence
 To provide practical training for new and existing employees
 To be present when any disciplinary action is required on employees working in the barn
 To implement Occupational Health and Safety procedures
 To be responsible for the welfare of the animals 
 Achieve weekly targets
 Submit accurate data to unit office/data input office
 Implement and monitor vaccination programs
 Monitor health in the barn & ensuring the proper handling of stock
 Monitor and set the proper ventilation and temperature controls
 Maintain barn hygiene and cleanliness
 Attend herd health visits and staff meetings
 Be available to answer alarms at the unit and to be available for emergency duties
 Responsible to act safely in performing job duties at all times
 Reporting safety concerns to the safety representative and/or Manager.
 Other duties as required
Education/Experience Required
 Certificate/Diploma in Animal Science or Veterinary Technology preferred
 2 years experience in a hog barn preferred
