Description

The City of Moose Jaw is looking to fill the position of Storekeeper which performs various storekeeping duties related to inventory and purchasing thereof and includes the stock maintenance and distribution of materials and supplies for use by all City Departments, including the maintenance of appropriate accounting records.

Some of the duties include:
- Perform all manual and computerized administration functions of the position as required.
- Accept or supervise requisitions for material and issue or supervise the issuance of material.
- Prepare and submit a variety of monthly stock, inventory, distribution and accounts receivable reports.
- Assist in preparing inventory and annual budget for submission to departments and provide input into the annual budget process for the stores and procurement area.
- Manage, prepare and participate in physical inventory counts and with assistance of the Accounting Clerk, prepare post inventory account reports.
- Assist departments with tendering process. Act as a purchasing agent for the City of Moose Jaw for all stores stock items.
- Maintain stores records and files.
- Order inventory as stock is depleted and prepare invoices for payment.
- Ensure proper controls are in place to protect stock items within the Stores Section.

Qualified applicants will possess:
- Diploma in Accounting or equivalent.
- PMAC (Purchasing Management Association of Canada) Technical Course for Introduction to Procurement and Introduction to Operations Management.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license.
- Fork-lift ticket.
- Accurate keyboarding speed of 40 wpm.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with purchasing and inventory.
- Minimum of 2 years experience with supervision of staff.
