JOB SUMMARY
The Truck Driver (Class 1A) and Equipment Operator is responsible for safely hauling various farming products and operating other equipment as required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Drive a Highway Tractor to haul harvested crops, seeds, fertilizer, water, and chemicals.
Load harvested grain out of grain bins, grain bags, or grain carts into bulk trailers using grain extractors, grain vacuums, grain augers and bin sweeps.
Unload harvested grain from bulk trailers into grain elevator, grain bins, or grain bags using grain augers or grain bagging machines.
Load seed and fertilizer from yard using grain augers and unload using auger on air drill.
Load chemicals onto deck using forklift and secure load.
Check equipment prior to operation to conduct and document various maintenance procedures
Adjust, repair, lubricate and service all highway tractors and trailers.
Detect equipment malfunction and remove obstructions after turning equipment off to avoid injury.
Report all breakdowns/malfunctions in a timely fashion to the Equipment Manager.
Perform emergency repairs in the field.
Operate farm tractors safely.
Follow-up and stay in contact with the Operations/ General Manager throughout the workday to ensure success
