Description

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
Ensure that the shelter operates efficiently, meets its operational targets, and aligns with the organizations goals
Oversee daily facility management, including scheduling, cleanliness, security, and safety protocols
Manage inventory of supplies and coordinate with procurement for necessary resources
Gathering and reporting statistics to the funders
Recruit, train, and supervise shelter staff, including support staff, and volunteers
Develop staff schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for all shifts
Ensure that residents receive high-quality, supportive services and that their needs are met respectfully and consistently
Address any resident concerns, incidents, or conflicts professionally and sensitively, implementing appropriate interventions when necessary
Liaise with community organizations, service providers, and government agencies to enhance support services and resource availability.
Develop partnerships with external service providers (e.g., healthcare, mental health, addiction services) to support resident needs
Manage the shelter budget, track expenditures, and identify areas for cost-effective improvements
Act as the primary contact in emergency situations, ensuring safety and timely responses
Coordinate emergency response procedures, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and other safety protocols
Ensure that incident reports are accurately completed and reviewed to improve future responses
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Diploma in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field
3-5 years of experience working in social services
