The Carter House provides a holistic and evidence-based approach to address the complex needs of families experiencing trauma and substance abuse disorder while focusing on delivering outcomes and recovery-based care. Our approach emphasizes a multi-disciplinary, person-centered, and family-focused model to address the diverse needs of those seeking recovery in Saskatchewan.
The CCA will be responsible for the care pertaining to each family from the time of admission to the discharge. The CCA support all aspects of the care plan and the recovery journey and will assist the care team with identifying and addressing risk factors associated with each family. The CCA is responsible for ensuring that all duties are completed to the standards of the organization. The CCA will report to the Shift Supervisor as the primary Supervisor.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist the clinical team in ensuring the daily treatment schedule is adhered to by clients
Coach parents in personal care related to their children
Assist medical staff and support residents with medication adherence
Assist clients and clinical team with goal and care plan development and follow-through
Build rapport with residents and provide therapeutic interactions
Establish and maintain current, accurate, confidential charting and documentation for each resident.
Follow medical instructions carefully and consistently
Manage any unanticipated events or unstable situations
Support other departments within The Carter House with additional duties such as cleaning and maintenance
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Certificate in Continuing Care Assistant or equivalent certification or diploma
Must retain active CPR and First Aid certification
Experience in a healthcare setting, in direct patient care
Understanding of charting and documentation standards in a healthcare environment
