To receive all prevention intake calls, emails and requests. To utilize the Prevention Screening tool and Direct Requests to review, assess and distribute all calls, emails, and requests received to the Family Support unit for a prevention response. To assist with the data collection received by the Family Support Screening process.
Knowledge of the FSIN Child Welfare and Family Support Act and the Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act. Children Services Manual, Child Protection Services Manual, the Provincial Child Abuse Protocol (Duty to Report), knowledge of Bill-C92; Post Majority Support ISC Guide, ISC Terms & Conditions, YTL Prevention Guide.
Be knowledgeable of the 14 Member Nations with Yellow Thunderbird Lodge-Yorkton Tribal Council Child and Family Services
-Working in collaboration with the community programs and services and YTC-YTCCFS Inc., this individual must possess the ability to assess and identify at risk families and the ability to refer and engage the appropriate resources.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of the Nehiyew, Nakota, Lakota and Anishinabek Culture and the political and social objectives of the YTC-YTCCFS Inc. member Nations.
Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of colonialism on First Nation people, Indian Residential Schools, Intergenerational trauma and how these factors impact individuals and families; and the influence of the child welfare system in First Nations communities.
Knowledge and understanding of the differences between the Prevention Program and Protection Program streams.
Possess a valid drivers license and posses a reliable vehicle.
Must be able to sign an Oath of Confidentialy.
Excellent public relation skills in communication, e.g., verbal, written, computer knowledge.
Qualifications:
Two (2) to four (4) years of experience working in the area Human Services, Youth Care Worker Diploma, Human Services Certificate, Bachelor of Social Work
