Summary:
The Quality Improvement Nurse is a member of the quality leadership team. The goal of the position is to improve quality and safety for patients of the Saskatoon Health Region. The position is accountable for the development and implementation of quality improvement processes and projects. The incumbent will be a leader, educator, facilitator, motivator, and coordinator of quality improvement programs and initiatives implemented by the acute care medicine team.
The role will be specifically responsible for implementation and development of the region's patient safety culture and education, and providing clinical quality improvement education and expertise to the staff.
The Quality Nurse follows the Canadian Nurses' Association's Code of Ethics, and the Nursing Unit's standards and policies. The incumbent identifies and meets professional development needs, maintains competence to role, and participates in professional organizations.

Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)

Other info:
Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
Supervisory experience relevant to the specific clinical assignment preferred

Experience:
Minimum 5 years recent acute nursing experience
3 years experience in the specific clinical area required

Other Education and Training:
Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
Nursing diploma is acceptable
