Description

The HOMEBASE Integrated Youth Support
    Work with local youth in planning a program, and coordinating and promoting youth, young adult, and family programming
    Address specific needs that will be addressed using a strength-based model that includes a sense of belonging, unresolved grief, building strong healthy relationships within the family, personal health practices and coping skills, decision making, problem solving etc.
    Provide cultural teachings and ceremonies, language classes, and proper protocols
    Engage and empower youth to learn leadership skills through opportunities to foster development of strong self-esteem.
    Work hands-on in the programs, activities, and special events as needed.
    Provide quality interaction to members, volunteers, and participants.
    Work with volunteers and staff and oversee daily operations of HOMEBASE.
    Must be self-directed and detail orientated.
    Demonstrated organization and communication skills
    Acquire CPR, AED, First Aid and ASIST certifications required within 60 days of hire
    Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations
    Possess basic computer skills
    Be energetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with youth, young adults, and families.
    Knowledgeable of survival skills needed while on the land, hunting, fishing, trapping, preparation of traditional foods, and setting up and organizing a safe camping experience.
    Willing to work on the land with youth, young adults, and families in all seasons.
Cultural Support Duties and Responsibilities
    Provide cultural guidance and supports to youth and families connected to HOMEBASE
    Implement and facilitate cultural teachings of Sturgeon Lake First Nation knowledge and ceremonies
    Work closely with the traditional health coordinator who coordinates direct and indirect cultural services to Sturgeon Lake First Nation to develop and enhance the cultural service practices for Sturgeon Lake First Nation
