The YMCA of Regina Before & After School Program is committed to providing quality childcare before school & after school for children in grades 1 to grades 8, Monday to Friday at participating schools throughout the city of Regina. The ideal candidate will exhibit a high level of organizational aptitude, creativity & awareness of the overall YMCA of Regina mandate & core values. Empowering youth & building trusting relationships with all children & their families is an integral part of the program. All YMCA of Regina staff act as role models for program participants.
Key Responsibilities:
Providing a safe & nurturing environment for children to learn, develop and explore, through the full implementation of our curriculum, A Place to Connect.
Lead & engage groups of 10-15 children by implementing daily programming activities.
Promote teamwork & open communication with parents & the Director of SchoolBased Programs.
Read, understand & comply with all YMCA of Regina policies & procedures, including Child Protection & A Place to Connect.
Requirements:
Must be available to work flexible hours, Monday to Friday.
Must have a willingness to work in various locations throughout the city of Regina & have a valid Drivers License.
First Aid/CPR would be an asset but not required.
Must provide a current (no older than 3 months from date of hire) criminal record check, including vulnerable sector check, prior to employment offer.
Have a basic understanding of child development & behavior management
