As the Manager of Planning and Performance, this position leads a small team dedicated to conducting program (strategic) reviews, workforce planning, business continuity, continuous improvement initiatives, innovation, performance measurement, and enterprise risk management. The position also involves working as part of a cross-functional team with opportunities to contribute to strategic planning and reporting. This role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to strategically develop, implement, and monitor business improvement initiatives across the ministry.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning and Budgeting, the ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. They will have the ability to lead and conduct in-depth research and analysis and provide evidence-based recommendations on the effectiveness of ministry programs and services. The candidate will also demonstrate the ability to manage change and navigate processes by working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders with varying interests.
Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree in public administration, business administration, or a related discipline, supplemented by public sector experience in the fields of improvement and innovation work, strategic planning, business or workforce planning. A combination of experience and education will be considered for this position.
