The District of Lakeland is seeking motivated and hardworking individuals to join our Public Works team as Maintenance Level 2. This is a hands-on role that involves operating equipment, maintaining municipal infrastructure, and supporting seasonal operations across the District.
Qualifications:
-Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Class 1A or 3A considered an asset)
-Experience operating equipment and performing outdoor physical work
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Strong communication and problem solving skills
-Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
-Safety certifications (e.g. WHIMIS, First Aid) are considered an asset
Responsibilities:
Duties will include, but not limited to:
-Operating light and heavy equipment (e.g. tractors, skidsteer, mowers, trucks)
-Performing road maintenance (grading, gravel spreading, pothole repair)
-Maintaining ditches, culverts, and drainage systems
-Conducting vegetation control including brush clearing and tree removal
-Performing mechanical checks and routine maintenance on equipment
-Assisting with Transfer Station operations and site cleanup
-Supporting infrastructure projects and seasonal activities
-Ensuring safe and efficient work with minimal disruption to the public
