This position is at Chamkun Health Centre. The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for administering and delivering mental health services to individuals and families experiencing mental health issues. This may include confidential individual, family or group counseling, support for families dealing with mental health issues or referrals to treatment for individuals.
     Must understand, support and participate in the community enhancement initiatives in working towards the vision of Fishing Lake First Nation which improves the quality of life.
    Development cooperative, professional and productive working relationships with the community services providers.
    Work as an integrated team member with other services providers form the Health Clinic, Child and Family Services, School, Elders, Recreation Services as well, services outside the community.
    Organize and communicate the opportunity for community members to participate in traditional speaking and health circles for men, women, and youth.
    A relevant Post- Secondary or Masters Level Degree in the Social/ Science or Human Services discipline such as a BSW, MSW, M Ed, Masters in Psychology.
    A valid Class 5 drivers license and reliable vehicle. 
    Appropriate professional membership to practice in Saskatchewan.
    Ensure professional liability insurance.
    A minimum of three years working with First Nations wellness issues in direct service delivery.
    Experience with individual, family and group counseling
    Relevant certificates and special training projects area will be considered as asset- ASSIST, Mental Health First Aid, Life Skills Coaching and/or training in facilitation.
    Knowledge of mental health illness, addictions, family violence, Indian residential school impacts and best practice approaches to support and treatment are critical.
    A solid understanding of mental health wellness and prevention.
    Suicide and Crisis intervention, critical incident management and debriefing are key skills.
