Description

Weyburn Legion requires a full cycle bookkeeping for Legion, Gaming and Poppy Fund including:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including Daily Sales transactions, expenses, payments & invoicing
- Prepare monthly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, Remitting LCT & PST & GST
- Process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, payroll tax remittances and T-4's
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Ensure compliance with Legion and government regulations, including Gaming and Poppy Fund regulations & confidentiality
- Assist with the annual financial audit or review
- Prepare Annual Returns
- Maintain accurate inventory records

Other Duties: includes assisting with other administrative tasks, such as creating documents, posters & tickets, Raffle and Gaming duties and helping with events


Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, including payroll processing, GST, LCT and PST remittances
- Experience with Business, NPO and Registered Charity Organization Accounting & procedures
- Experience with QuickBooks accounting software, Email, Excel & MS word
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
- Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Ability to organize and manage financial records effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve accounting errors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- This position requires a criminal and vulnerable record check completed by the local police service.
