Description

Southland Transportation has an exciting opportunity for an individual who is ready to take the next step in their career as an Operations Manager.

This is a camp-based position, working a 7 day on / 7 day off rotation (Wednesday to Tuesday). Shifts will be 10 hours (worked as a split shift) between the hours of 4:00 am and 6:00 pm. Meals and accommodation provided.

What You Do:

-Work with functional leaders within the company to ensure compliance to company policies and procedures
-Supervise and train a team of professional drivers and operations staff
-Develop positive relationships with key clients and vendors to allow the company to lead the industry with best service levels
-Assist in answering customer, public or employee inquiries; provide exceptional customer service
-Approve employee time sheets and submit to payroll
-Document fleet maintenance and organize maintenance with outside suppliers
-Ensure that safety is always a strong part of the culture

What You Bring:

-Post-secondary education with an emphasis on Business or Management; an equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may also be considered
-Previous transportation/logistics operations and supervisory experience (2 + years)
-Excellent ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a team, clients, and internal managers
-Computer proficiency
