Supports the WDM Moose Jaw in achieving its public trust responsibilities through providing exceptional visitor services and assisting with the delivery of a wide range of programs and events to diverse audiences. Works cooperatively with all members of the staff team to create a positive museum experience. Undertakes special projects as assigned by the Museum Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports the planning and delivery of programs and events, including setup, participant supervision, activity assistance, and evaluation.
Greets and orients visitors, provides information about the Museum, local attractions, and volunteer opportunities.
Supports admissions, gift shop sales, and membership promotion; performs light cleaning in public areas.
Assists with seasonal attractions (e.g., Short Line 101 rides) and exhibit setup, including photographing artifacts and preparing displays.
Helps develop community engagement initiatives and builds relationships with local schools and educators.
Supports volunteers involved in programs and events.
Aids in promotion through social media, bulletin boards, and other communication channels.
Completes administrative duties, including managing the online booking system and opening Museum spaces.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent & a minimum 1-2 years of pertinent experience in customer service and program development and delivery.
The work schedule is casual part-time offering up to 15 hours per week with potential for additional hours for the right candidate. Must be available for weekends, and some evening shifts. Schedule is irregular and hours are assigned on an as-needed basis. This position includes paid sick leave and participation in the Public Employees Pension Plan (with employer contribution matching).
