Employees in this position coordinate and deliver children's programming services (preschool through Grade 8/9) at city public library branches under the supervision of the Branch Manager and with the assistance of other branch library staff. They also assist in the delivery of public library services from a city public library branch. They assist with, recommend and implement current information technology strategies in all aspects of their work. Further, they provide reference services, operate the circulation desk and support overall library services. They report to the Branch Manager or designate. They use the full range of equipment available in the branch as well as effectively search the libraries electronic information sources. They provide a leadership role in the branch and assist in the orientation and training of branch staff. They interact with the public, make independent judgments and display initiative. They work, in cooperation with the Adult's Program Coordinator, in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the Branch Manager. Post secondary education in ECE III or equivalent.
