PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assign daily tasks within the urban shop;
Equipment operation and maintenance of tractors, mowers, skid steer, packers and other equipment;
Hard surface roadway maintenance which can include but not limit to, crack sealing, pothole repair, chipseal repair, line painting;
Park maintenance of grassed areas, trees, shrubs, etc.;
Knowledge of operating and repairing irrigation systems;
Annual weed control license is preferred;
Winter maintenance, snow removal, ice control for roads and pathways;
Seasonal drainage maintenance such as culvert steaming/cleaning;
Assisting with the Water Treatment Plant and North Booster Station operations and general maintenance of those facilities;
Assisting with daily testing, sampling and record keeping;
Assisting with meter reading;
Assist with yearly water valve exercising;
Assist with watermain flushing and hydrant maintenance;
Assist with lift station maintenance and monitoring of the collection system;
Ability to be on call 24 7 for assisting in Emergency situations (1 week per month rotation);
All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have a valid driver's license and vehicle;
Must have a valid Power Mobile Equipment Certificate or be willing to obtain same;
Applicants must be able to work with minimal supervision and must be able to work well with others;
Valid Saskatchewan Vehicle Operators License with air endorsement would be an asset;
Any certifications or journeyman tickets would be an asset;
Must have Grade 12 or equivalent or a combination of education & experience;
Preference will be given to those candidates who have achieved Level I Water & Wastewater Distribution certification;
WHMIS, Confined Space Entry, First Aid/CPR are required;
Mechanical ability for repairing equipment would be an asset;
Water/Wastewater treatment and distribution experience an asset
