Job Overview
Nest Health Centre is seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our very busy family practice clinic. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of our medical office. Were looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is committed to providing outstanding patient service, and demonstrates compassion, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to follow direction accurately and provide exceptional administrative support while creating a welcoming experience for every patient.
This position requires proficiency with phone systems, electronic medical records, and medical terminology.

Duties
    Answer and manage a high volume of incoming calls using a 12-line phone system, directing calls as appropriate
    Greet patients at the front desk and manage check-in/check-out processes
    Schedule appointments and maintain physician calendars
    Accurately maintain electronic medical records (EMR)
    Collect patient information and verify insurance coverage before appointments
    Process forms and accept payments from patients
    Communicate clearly and professionally with patients regarding inquiries and follow-ups
    Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality

Qualifications
    Previous experience in a medical or dental office preferred
    Office Education Certificate is an asset, but a combination of education and customer service/medical experience will be considered
    Familiarity with EMR systems and administrative procedures is required
    Knowledge of medical terminology essential
    Strong phone and front desk skills
    Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
    Professional and empathetic interpersonal skills
    Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
