1. Role Overview
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the day-to-day financial administration of CHEP Good Food Inc., ensuring that accurate records are maintained, reporting is timely, and financial practices comply with internal policies and external requirements. This role supports financial transparency, organizational sustainability, and efficient program delivery.
2. Key Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile financial records in QuickBooks Online.
Manage accounts payable and receivable; process invoices and payments.
Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements and monitor cash flow.
Process biweekly payroll using Ceridian Powerpay, ensuring compliance with provincial and federal legislation.
Submit GST/PST filings and other financial remittances as needed.
Generate monthly financial reports and support budget vs. actual reviews.
Assist with year-end financial audit preparation and documentation.
Track restricted/unrestricted funds and support grant reporting.
Conduct weekly in-person bank deposits (required).
Provide financial support and accessibility to staff during in-office days.
3. Additional Responsibilities
Support the Executive Director in budget planning and financial oversight.
Identify and implement improvements to financial procedures and internal controls.
Assist with financial policy development and documentation.
