The Saskatchewan First Nations Family and Community Institute Inc. (SFNFCI) is the leading, innovative, sustainable, wholistic center of research and professional learning to organizations serving children, youth, and families. Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Human Resources Consultant is responsible for the delivery of HR programs to SFNFCI staff. This position carries out research, analyzes data, and drafts policies, procedures, and best practice recommendations for SFNFCI. This position is directly involved in recruitment, onboarding, Human Resource metrics and reporting, and performance management. In addition to keeping current with the applicable laws and regulations, this role adheres to and enforces all established policies and procedures of SFNFCI. The Human Resource Consultant has excellent communication skills and maintains positive relationships between the management team and employees.

Education
A university degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Labour Relations or related discipline.
A CPHR designation is considered an asset.

Experience
Three (3-5) years of experience as a Human Resource generalist, demonstrating working knowledge of:
Employee relations, benefits administration, recruitment, talent management, policy development, and HR systems.
Applying Provincial and/or Federal Labour Standards.
Organizational change management and employee communications.
Coordinating multiple projects at the same time with superb accuracy.
The successful candidate must possess:
Multicultural beliefs, values, and perspectives with particular emphasis on First Nations and Metis cultural understandings.
An awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by First Nations children, youth and families in Saskatchewan.
