Position Overview: KEMC seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and efficient Senior Accountant to provide support within the Finance team through a broad scope of duties in a hybrid work setting.
Key Responsibilities
-Assisting with processing payroll and filings. Inputting, payment and reconciliation of payables for all related entities. Reconciling general ledger reports and making reconciliation entries. Support month end process including entries, inventory preparation, analyzing commodity margins, and analyzing monthly financial statements for all entities. Supporting preparation of all year end related working papers and assisting with the management of the year end engagements for all entities. Preparing a variety of analysis for the board as requested for a variety of projects. Assisting with preparation of information to be used in the budgeting and forecasting process. Preparation and filing of applicable provincial and federal tax returns. Assisting with financial packages and information to be presented to the board at regularly scheduled meetings.
Skills & Qualifications:
-Degree or diploma in accounting, with preference being given to applicants who hold/working towards their CPA. Consideration will be given to relevant work experience. Quick Books/Sage experience, exceptional independent work, understanding of Indigenous culture, protocols, and business environments. Strong set of accounting skills adaptable across multiple environments in a team setting.
