Duties and responsibilities:
- Plan, oversee and carry out the day-to-day operations of Vocational Evaluation including information gathering, and the initiation of the evaluation process.
- Become a subject-matter expert with the use, administration, and interpretation of assessment tools to establish functional, attitudinal and interest levels as well as employment aptitudes.
- Observe participants to gain information related their soft skill base, work maturity, initial academic testing and make judgements as to testing protocol and report recommendations.
- Develop a working knowledge of available resources such as specific work-related (e.g., existing job situations, training and apprentice programs, specialized technical schools, etc.) as well as community supports to provide robust recommendations.
- Analyze and synthesis assessment and observation results to form comprehensive vocational evaluation reports that outline vocational strengths, skills and recommendations for growth or supports that will lead to a successful employment attachment.
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Social Work, Education or Psychology.
- In depth understanding of disability issues, suitable accommodations, and modifications related to conducting assessments (e.g., disability, impact, function, vocation).
- Ability to accurately administer, score and interpret standardized assessments, as well as compile and interpret test results to write a comprehensive report that is clear, concise and reflects the job seeker in a positive manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to be effective and work cooperatively with a diverse audience.
- Valid Class 5 Drivers Licence and a reliable vehicle.
