Description

Under the direct supervision of the Finance Supervisor, the Accounting Clerk is responsible for filing, data entry, entering daily/weekly sales in accounting system, maintain accounts payable, reconcile vendor and other accounts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviewing and verifying invoices for appropriate backup documentation and approval prior to inputting into the accounting system.
Sort, code, and match invoices to be data entered.
Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
Reconcile VISA statements and accounts payable transactions.
Correspond with vendors and respond to Accounts Payable inquiries.
Assist in preparing reports, proposals, correspondence, and other documentation.
Maintain confidentiality of organizational information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary Education in accounting or a related discipline is preferred.
Basic understanding of accounts payable and previous experience would be an asset.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent written, oral, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
Knowledge of First Nation culture and traditions will be an asset.
