Description

The City of Moose Jaw is looking to fill the position of Storekeeper which is responsible for managing inventory, overseeing the storage and distribution of goods, and maintaining accurate records of equipment and fixed assets.

Some of the duties include:
- Receive, inspect, and reconcile incoming goods with purchase orders.
- Organize and store items in designated areas.
- Monitor product shelf life and apply FIFO rotation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and generate weekly reports.
- Ensure safe handling and storage practices.
- Forecast future inventory needs in collaboration with departments.
- Maintain an up to date equipment reserve register.
- Record all acquisitions and disposals of assets.
- Work with the Procurement team to support timely and cost-effective contracts.
- Assist in identifying inventory related procurement needs and opportunities.
- Provide input on supplier performance and product quality.
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to resolve issues and ensure service quality.
- Research and recommend new competitive suppliers in the market.

Qualified applicants will possess:
- Certificate in Purchasing, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management, OR 2 years of experience in municipal/public sector purchasing and inventory.
- Class 5 drivers license.
- Proficiency in computerized inventory control systems.
- Knowledge of municipal supply sources, pricing, and procurement policies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Forklift certifications (within 6 months).
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and move 100 lbs. using a trolley.
- Ability to coach, lead, organize and direct employee activities.
- Thorough understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
