Description

The Ministry of Social Services is seeking compassionate, community-minded individuals to join its team as Child and Caregiver Support Workers in Melfort. This opportunity offers meaningful work supporting children and families through protective, preventative, and support services using the P.R.I.D.E. and Family Centered Case Management models.

We are looking for candidates who are deeply committed to relationship-building and community engagement. You will bring strong critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills, along with an understanding of multicultural values, especially First Nations and Metis perspectives. Knowledge of poverty and systemic issues, and the ability to advocate for clients and remove barriers to independence, are essential.

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work, or a Human Service Degree (e.g., Sociology, Psychology, Education, Indigenous Studies, Nursing) plus relevant experience. A Social Work Certificate with related experience may also be considered. A valid Saskatchewan drivers license is required, as travel and flexible hoursincluding evenings and weekendsare part of the role.

Responsibilities include casework and planning for children in care and their caregivers, conducting assessments, facilitating placements, delivering training, and collaborating with community agencies. Indigenous representation is prioritized, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
