Description

Prince Albert Housing Authority (PAHA) has an opportunity for an accounting professional to fill a term as Senior Finance Officer.  This is a term position for three months with the possibility of extension based on business needs.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Sr. Finance Officer will work in conjunction with two Accounting Technicians, ensuring the financial system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with GAAP and applicable legislation and standards.   The position supports the full accounting cycle within JD Edwards, supervises daily deposits, reconciles monthly statements, and prepares monthly vendor payments and cheques.  

You can also expect to support payroll and benefits administration including the preparation of required payroll remittances, oversee insurance claim invoicing and submission of insurance documentation to Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC).

The Senior Finance Officer may be required to work irregular hours and support the GM as requested with various projects, other duties, and change management initiatives.  

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Accounting Diploma combined with proven related work experience.
Experience using JD Edwards, or similar accounting software, along with proficiency with the MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
Strong analytical, mathematical and communication skills are key.
Must be a team play who can work independently, has excellent judgement, maintains confidentiality, and is able to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
