Description

This position provides administrative support to the Protection Director. Responsibilities include coordinating staff meetings and organizational events, participating in project management tasks as assigned by the Protection Director, and monitoring the progress of strategic initiatives to ensure timely reporting.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work (BSW or BISW) OR
Four(4) year University undergraduate degree in a related discipline and two (years) direct child protection services experience.

Skills & Abilities include but are not limited to:
Knowledge and understanding of the impacts of colonialism of First Nation people, Indian Residential Schools, Intergenerational trauma and how these factors impact individuals and families and the influence of the child welfare system in First Nations communities.
Knowledge and understanding of the differences between the Prevention and Protection Services Program streams.
Understands the complexity and multi-dimensional nature of many social problems affecting children and families (child abuse, maltreatment/abuse, and neglect, etc.)
Must have experience with Microsoft Office.
Must have knowledge of the operations and functions of various types of office equipment.
Must possess excellent organization and time management skills.
Must be dependable and reliable.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of the Nakoda, Dakota, Nehiyew and Anishinabek Culture and the political and social objectives of the YTL-YTCCFS Inc. member First Nations
Possess a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle.
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
Must pass security screening and sign an Oath of Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement
Must display professional office manner.
