The Ministry of Social Services is hiring Child and Caregiver Support Workers in the Nipawin office. The ministry supports income assistance, child and family services, disability supports, and housing, helping citizens build better lives through strong families and communities.
We are seeking individuals committed to improving the lives of children and families. You will provide protective, preventative, and support services using the P.R.I.D.E. and Family Centered Case Management models. You will manage casework and resource planning for children in care, foster families, and extended family caregivers, support service delivery improvements, deliver training, conduct assessments, facilitate placements, and provide post-placement support.
Ideal candidates will have strong relationship-building skills, critical thinking, and sound judgment. You must understand multicultural values, especially First Nations and Mtis perspectives, and be aware of poverty and systemic issues. Advocacy, clear communication, and collaboration are essential.
Qualifications include knowledge of the child welfare system, risk assessment, and community engagement. You must be able to support caregivers, liaise with agencies, and complete documentation to professional standards.
