Position Overview
As a Disability Support Worker, you'll uphold our organizations' values by providing personalized support to individuals experiencing disability. Your role is pivotal in enhancing their independence, fostering their potential, and improving their overall quality of life.
Essential Job Functions
- Support individuals in daily living activities, as well as accessing their community and connecting with peers.
- Collaborate as a team to implement individualized person- centered plans.
- Support individuals with skill development including problem solving, conflict resolution, and decision making.
- Follow positive behavior support plans and provide support to medical appointments.
- Serve as a positive role model and encourage interpersonal skills development.
- Monitor, report, and document individual activities, health, progress, and incidents.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, report safety hazards.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications
-High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
-Valid Class 5 Drivers License and reliable vehicle.
-Valid Standard/ Intermediate First Aid Certificate
-Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
-Proficiency in spoken and written English.
-Availability for shift work.
