Description

As a non-profit organization that is responsive to both industry and community needs, the Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre (STSC) delivers short-term trades and skills training to youth and adults, leading to entry-level jobs where workers are in high demand.

ROLE:
The STSC Job Coach - Construction Trades is responsible for the coordination, implementation and facilitation of STSC courses focused on construction trades in alignment with the organizations strategic plan to ensure successful delivery and positive outcomes for all stakeholders in our community.

DUTIES:
- Deliver and/or monitor facilitation of STSC construction trade courses
- Participate in program development
- Promote STSC training programs to appropriate industry partners
- Plan, track, and report on outputs and outcomes
- Participant coaching including job search support
- Maintain database, electronic records and other administrative duties
- Maintain inventory control systems and equipment upkeep
- Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
- Liaise with STSC Industry employers for employment placements
- Monitor and assess labour market trends/opportunities
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or Executive Director

REQUIREMENTS:
- Good knowledge and handling of project management methodology and techniques
- Good understanding of classroom instruction methods and the ability to deliver material in an engaging manner
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge of trades and apprenticeship opportunities in Saskatchewan
- Valid drivers license
- Journey Person/Vocational Certificate
- Post Secondary Education/Certification in a related field an asset
-  Experience in providing employment support services to a diverse client group including vulnerable individuals an asset
- Clean vulnerable sector criminal record check
