Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to call bells and provide assistance with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding support.
Help patients with mobility by safely lifting, repositioning, or transferring them using appropriate equipment when required.
Prepare residents for medical procedures, such as shaving prior to surgery, and support routine health practices.
Assist with meal service, including distributing trays, supporting dietary choices, and monitoring intake.
Facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities, accompany residents on outings, and encourage exercise programs to promote physical and emotional well-being.
Record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and accurately chart observations, fluid balance, and care notes.
Collect and handle specimens in accordance with established protocols.
Provide first aid or urgent care within scope of practice in emergency situations.
Safely transport residents using wheelchairs, stretchers, or other mobility aids, both within the facility and occasionally between care sites.
Maintain a clean and comfortable environment by making beds, restocking supplies, and ensuring rooms meet health and safety standards.
Support the maintenance and safe operation of medical equipment, including cleaning, assembling, and reporting malfunctions.
Promote dignity, respect, and independence for each resident by practicing person-centered care.
Communicate effectively with families and healthcare staff to support collaborative care planning.
Adhere to infection control procedures and workplace safety guidelines at all times.
This role requires patience, empathy, and attention to detail, along with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment where resident care always comes first.
