Reporting to the principal the teacher will be responsible for instructing students by creating Unit plan, lesson plans, administering praise and constructive criticism, instructing students on Core subject areas to create a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program. The teacher will also be expected to work collaboratively with Literacy, Numeracy Catalysts, Cree Immersion, Land-based Culture Program and the Special Education Teacher to support student learning.
Duties and Responsibilities
Establish classroom management plans, observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
Establish clear outcomes for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those outcomes to students.
Be knowledgeable about administration policies and rules governing students (student/school safety and Parental Engagement).
Invests in the life of the school by participating in the Land-based and culture program, be cognizant of the Mihkoskiwakak Nehiyawak Culture and participate in cultural activities in the community.
Demonstrated professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity.
