Description

North Woods Renovations is looking for a motivated and talented journeyman/woman carpenter with extensive experience in renovations and installing windows and doors.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Tasks: Construct, erect, install, and repair structures such as walls, floors, windows, doors, cabinets etc., using hand tools and power tools.

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.

Material Selection: Determine the type and amount of materials needed for each project and source them accordingly.

Supervision: Work directly with laborers, other carpenters and sub trades, ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure conformity to specifications and compliance with local building codes and safety regulations.

Project Management: Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Red Seal ticket in carpentry, ideally minimum of 10 years experience in renovations and/or new construction.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and effectively.

Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to perform measurements and calculations accurately for construction tasks.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to address challenges that arise during construction projects.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
