In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Ammonia Crystallization, Oxygen and Utility plants, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and product quality. Youll collaborate closely with both operations and maintenance teams while effectively communicating plant conditions. As you receive training and experience in other areas of our site, youll apply your troubleshooting skills and have the opportunity to mentor Power Engineer Trainees. Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Ammonia Crystallization, Oxygen and Utility plants
-Required to be trained in the operation of the Sulfuric Acid Plant
-Strive for continuous improvement in operation efficiency and product quality
-Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication to relay information regarding condition of plant
-Maintaining an accurate shift log
-Ability to work with operations and maintenance departments
-Ability to operate in a leadership role when needed
-Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in heat conditions (up to 40C)
Skills and Qualifications:
-Grade 12 diploma
-Possession of a valid 3rd Class Power Engineers certificate
o Candidates with 3rd Class exams completed and working towards firing time will be considered
o Candidates with progress made towards their 2nd class will be considered
-Must have 3 or more years experience working with high pressure boilers in a heavy industrial atmosphere
-Ability to mentor and develop Power Engineer Trainees
-Commissioning & shut down experience is an asset
-Acid Plant and Evaporator experience is an asset
-Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewans North (RSN)
Work Location & Schedule:
-McClean Lake
-14 day in/14 day out rotating schedule
-Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required
