Description

The Dental Assistant works under the direct supervision of the Healthy Families Program Director and the general guidance of the Executive Director. The Dental Assistant is responsible for assisting the dental therapist in carrying out the comprehensive dental program to school children in the First Nations communities of the Battle River Treaty 6 Health Centre Inc. service area.
Qualifications and Experience:
Must be registered and maintain registration and license annually with the Saskatchewan Dental Assistant Association
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable about and confirm to the codes of professional conduct, professional practice standards, and ethics.
Additional Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of the organization (strategic priorities, values, goals, services, and programs), health care and First Nations culture
Previous working experience with First Nations people and demonstrate an understanding of the health and social issues encountered by First Nations people and a willingness to learn about and accept First Nations culture.
Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and technological platforms such as Microsoft Teams and WebEx, Clear Dent
Abilities and behaviors associated with the core competencies with an emphasis upon planning and organizing, accountability and dependability, analytical and problem solving, interpersonal relationships, collaboration and teamwork, leadership and learning.
Demonstrated ability to manage highly sensitive information and documents, exercising confidentiality, discretion, good judgment, and exercising tact, courtesy, and diplomacy
Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to balance the changing needs of the organization
A successful criminal record check with the vulnerable sector.
Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan drivers license
Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision
