Building rapport with individuals, families, and stakeholders is essential.
Youll provide direct support focused on well-being, guided by individual needs. Calm, risk-aware responses during behavioural escalations are key. Communication must be clear and simple, using de-escalation techniques, offering choices, and reassurance.
Additional duties include driving, assisting with daily living, and supporting life skill development.
CLSD provides onboarding and safety training. Knowledge is typically gained through 23 years post-secondary education in a human service field (e.g., Disability Support Worker, Psychology, Social Work) and/or experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and complex behaviours.

This is a shift work position in a 24/7 care program. Shifts are 8 hours and include days, evenings, and nights. Candidates must be legally eligible to operate a Ministry-supplied vehicle.
