Description

Summary    
The Recreation Labourer position is responsible for a wide range of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the Ice Facilities at the West Central Events Centre.  Key responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of Ice Resurfacer and maintaining a safe and clean facility for all user groups.

Duties & Responsibilities
    Operate equipment including, but not limited to, Zambonis, ice edger, floor scrubbers, etc.
    Ensure the facility and dressing rooms are maintained to the highest degree of cleanliness and safety for all staff, patrons, and user groups entering and using the WCEC.
    Assist in all aspects of the preparation and execution of events, programs, and projects at the WCEC.
    Always comply with the departmental procedures and ensure building standards are maintained.
    All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
    Arena Operator 1 & 2 certificates preferred
    Building Maintenance 1 & 2 certificates preferred
    Refrigeration Plant knowledge an asset
    High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
    Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License
    Standard First Aid & CPR
    WHMIS (will be provided upon employment)

Skills and Competencies
    Ability to be punctual
    Ability to work with and respect co-workers, management, Town Council and the general public.
    Build strong relationships and trust with customers and user groups.
    Working knowledge of equipment related to ice maintenance and janitorial duties

Hours of Work
    Shift work is required, primarily evening and weekends- 40 hours / week, with overtime if necessary.

Compensation & Benefits:
    Starting wage: $23.39 - $24.51 depending on experience (CUPE #2740).
    Medical and dental insurance provided by Group Health.
    Pension with the Saskatchewan Municipal Pension Plan.
