Description

Reporting to the General Manager of Cultural and Aquatic Services, the Museum Attendant at the Swift Current Museum is responsible for ensuring smooth visitor services. Responsibilities include administering front desk services by offering both spoken and written tourism information, assisting with the gift shop, gathering basic visitor data, aiding with program registrations, providing details about Museum exhibits, supporting events, conducting gallery patrols, and handling routine administrative tasks. The position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to engage with visitors, adaptability, a strong dedication to teamwork, and a collaborative approach. Expected working hours for this role are Saturday afternoons as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to engage positively with the public, meeting new people, partnering with volunteers.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including familiarity with computers and windows-based applications.
- Strong customer service orientation with ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public in person, online and over the phone.
- Ability to use judgement and make basic decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Ability to perform routine operations such as balancing cash with receipts.
- Ability to maintain facility records and files.
- Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to type, with accuracy and speed, business correspondence and technical reports.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to multi-task and work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to navigate difficult situations using sound judgement to find possible solutions or alternatives while maintaining positive guest relationships.
- Ability to learn Xplore Recreation.
